Kanji Lalji Limited (“KL Ltd.”) is a privately owned regional transportation company, based in Tanzania and serving its neighboring countries in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, and Congo). Established in 1912 in Tanzania, KL Ltd. is one of the oldest and most reliable transport companies in the region. KL Ltd. has successfully fulfilled contracts for governments, local non-government organizations, multinational corporations and multilateral donors.

KL Ltd. is a family owned company. Throughout our 95-year history, our reputation for integrity and reliable service has enabled us to survive the many political changes that have affected Tanzania. KL Ltd. has not only adapted to the various changes, but has prospered and expanded by improving its services.



Currently, KL Ltd. has a fleet of over 106 trucks of various configurations, from a loading capacity of 7 tons to a loading capacity of 32 tons. KL Ltd. has the capability of servicing the rural areas with its smaller trucks, or the major destinations with its larger fleet, with a total capacity of over 4,000 tons. KL Ltd. currently has a staff strength of over 200 and two fully equipped service centres situated in Mbeya and Dar es Salaam, which support a well-maintained fleet for reliable service.
